The Swedish quantum company SCALINQ wants to improve the world with its knowledge.

It's full steam ahead at SCALINQ's headquarters in Gothenburg. The company, a spin-off from Chalmers with 20 employees, is growing and soon the walls to the neighbour will be demolished, providing larger offices, production facilities and labs.
– Our niche in quantum technology is becoming increasingly important. We don't aim to solve everything, but very specific problems. This allows us to innovate on a completely different level and do so in a long-term, cost-effective and high-performance manner, says Zaid Saeed.
Broader applications
SCALINQ develops components needed to realise a complete quantum computer system, hardware surrounding the quantum chip itself. Today they sell four different product lines on the market. Products that, among other things, work like a motherboard, help communication with the quantum chip and filter out high-frequency noise.
– Our customers are on all continents, both companies, universities and institutes. The industry is growing rapidly, one can make the argument that what has happened in the last 4-5 years is equivalent to what happened over two decades, says Zaid Saeed.
The quantum industry is expanding both in Sweden and globally.
– Capital, talent and infrastructure in nanofabrication are all brought together and acting parallelly. Today, the quantum computer can beat the ordinary computer at very specific problems. In the future, we believe that we will see much broader applications. Quantum computers have the potential to solve incredibly complex problems for humanity, anything that has an optimisation origin, says Zaid Saeed.
Much-needed consolidation
The company is one of the partners in the quantum network QSIP and knows the importance of the Swedish initiative.
– QSIP displays Swedish quantum technology and contributes a much-needed consolidation of different perspectives. Sweden has very good research in quantum technology that needs to see the light of day from the lab environment.
Zaid Saeed's vision is that SCALINQ will create a positive global impact through their knowledge on cryogenic electronics. The first mission is the quantum computer.
– It is a platform technology, just like the internet, where possible applications are only a matter of users' imagination. It could revolutionise all industries.
