Abstract:

The International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ 2025) is a global initiative proclaimed by the United Nations to celebrate the 100th anniversary of modern quantum mechanics. IQY 2025 aims to raise awareness about the importance of quantum science and its impact on technology and society. Throughout the year, various events and activities will be organized worldwide to promote quantum science, technology, and education.

As part of this yearlong celebration, join the SIREUS team and the Embassy of Sweden in Washington for an engaging virtual workshop featuring insights from leading Swedish and American experts on recent development in quantum computing, and to explore opportunities for increased bilateral research cooperation in the field.

Agenda:

  • Welcome Remarks by Moderator, Dr. Maria Brogren, Counselor for Science and Innovation, Embassy of Sweden
  • Keynote Remarks by Professor Göran Johansson, Director for Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology (WACQT)
  • Keynote Remarks by Dr. Kasra Nowrouzi, Research Scientist, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
  • Q&A Session with Keynote Speakers
