Event Type

On 9 December, 12:00-13:00, we are delighted to host Pontus Vikstål, Senior Quantum Application Scientist at Chalmers Next Lab. During the webinar, titled "Why Nature Is the Ultimate Computer: Quantum Computing, Real Use-Cases, and WACQT Research Arena" he will explain what quantum computing actually is, why nature itself is the ultimate computer, and what aircraft scheduling and magnets have in common. You will also learn about the WACQT Research Arena (WARA) for Quantum Computing, how to find a good quantum use-case, and how your organization can become “quantum ready”.

Pontus Vikstål works as a Senior Quantum Applications Scientist at Chalmers Next Labs, where he leads its efforts in the WACQT Research Arena (WARA) for Quantum Computing, helping take quantum computing from research to industry. He holds a doctorate in quantum computing and has spent over seven years in the field, with a focus on applying quantum computing to real-world problems, including aircraft scheduling. Alongside his technical work, Pontus is an active science communicator, making quantum computing accessible to industry and general audiences alike.
