DESCRIPTION:On 16 June\, 12:00-13:00\, we are delighted to host Anton Fri
 sk Kockum\, Associated Professor within WACQT at Chalmers University of Te
 chnology. During the webinar he will give us a brief introduction to quant
 um computing.\n\n\nAnton Frisk Kockum is a theoretical physicist working o
 n quantum optics and quantum information\, including circuit quantum elect
 rodynamics\, “giant atoms”\, quantum tomography\, compilation of quant
 um algorithms\, and ultrastrong light-matter coupling. He received his Ph.
 D. degree in physics from Chalmers University of Technology in 2014. After
  a three-year stint in Japan as a postdoctoral researcher at RIKEN\, he mo
 ved back to Sweden in 2018\, taking up a permanent position as a researche
 r at the Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology (WACQT)\, at Chalmers Un
 iversity of Technology\, where he now is an associate professor. Within WA
 CQT\, Anton leads the team that provides theory support for the core proje
 ct of building a superconducting quantum computer. This work involves desi
 gning qubits and their interactions\, simulating multi-qubit systems\, and
  developing optimal-control methods for their operation. Anton also explor
 es the physics of ”giant atoms” — qubits coupled to their surroundin
 gs at multiple coupling points. In 2025\, Anton received the Wallmarkska P
 rize from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences for his discoveries in the
